This was originally created for The Sandman poster that Craig illustrated for the American Library Association—it is an alternate head that was not used for the final piece. The original art is currently up for auction at eBay.

PCR Rarities #11

A rare, unpublished DOCTOR STRANGE page. This beautifully penciled piece was part of Craig’s 1972 Marvel “try-out” portfolio, which got him into The House of Ideas. He would soon be illustrating Doctor Strange in various issues of MARVEL PREMIERE as well as the classic DOCTOR STRANGE ANNUAL #1.
